The renovation of this apartment in Barcelona for a foreign couple was a complete transformation project, aimed at adapting the space to the clients’ new uses and aesthetic tastes. The couple sought a home that reflected Barcelona’s vibrant and unique character, yet with a contemporary aesthetic that moved away from traditional styles, creating a modern, functional, and welcoming environment.
To achieve this, unnecessary partitions were removed to open up the spaces, promoting fluidity between the different areas of the home. The kitchen, living room, and dining room were integrated into a single open-plan area that maximizes natural light, improves circulation, and creates a more spacious and seamless environment. This open layout also allows every corner of the house to visually connect without sacrificing the privacy of its distinct zones.
The renovation focused on local and traditional materials, such as ceramics and wood, but reinterpreted with a modern approach.
